The background tool

The background tool is used to add a background colour and lines to your paper. When used, future pages will have the same colour and lines as the current page.

The background tool is accessed by clicking on the grid icon in the bottom left or by pressing B:

This brings up the menu for backgrounds and grids:

This allows the setting of:

  1. The background colour

  2. The colour of the lines

  3. The thickness of the lines, 1 by default

  4. The vertical spacing, 1 by default

  5. The horizontal spacing, 0 by default

To create a grid, you need to have the horizontal spacing and vertical spacing at 1 or higher. For a symmetrical grid with square boxes, the horizontal and vertical spacing should be equal.

Please note: when this tool is used, any page created in the future will match the design of the current page. You can apply this to old pages by clicking "Apply to all pages", located next to the done button.
