Zooming and rotating on Bitpaper on laptops, tablets, iPads, and touch-screen devices.

To Zoom:

  • Pinch your screen or trackpad in and out, and BitPaper will zoom to your finger/cursor location.

  • Or you can use Ctrl + mouse wheel scroll to zoom to your cursor location.

  • Or select the pan tool (5), and you’ll see new zoom and rotate sliders in the bottom left of the screen.

To Rotate:

  • Use the two-finger clockwise or anti-clockwise turning gesture on your screen or trackpad.

  • Or select the pan tool (5), and you’ll see new zoom and rotate sliders in the bottom left of the screen.

To Pan:

  • Use the two-finger swipe gesture on your screen or touchpad.

  • Or hold down the middle mouse button and drag (or use the mouse wheel to just scroll up and down).

  • Or select the pan tool (5) in the usual way.

Gesture Settings

This feature allows a user-level gesture to be toggled on or off.

Go to colour palette > Gestures > Gestures

Menu Gesture: This allows you to control the pop-up menu presented on touch screens when pressed and held.

Long Press Time: This allows you to control the time the pop-up menu takes to show on the touch device. e.g., the shorter the time, the quicker it displays. We recommend asking student users to set the time a lot longer to avoid paper distraction.

Zoom/Rotate Gestures: This allows finger-to-finger touch to be either enabled or disabled for the user.

At present, these settings are only available at the user level.
