Granting Bitpaper access to your hardware

Bitpaper needs access to your camera, microphone and screen in order to use audio/video calls.

For Bitpaper to be able to use these devices, you must:

  • Set your operating system preferences to allow your browser to use these devices (this mostly concerns MacOS users).

  • Set your browser preferences to allow Bitpaper to use your device.

Allowing device access in your operating system

If you use MacOS:

  • Go to System Preferences

  • Click Security and Privacy

  • Scroll to Camera

  • Make sure the browser you use is ticked on

Follow the same steps for Microphone and Screen Recording.

If you're not allowed to make changes to these settings, you should click the padlock icon on the bottom-left of this window and enter your administrator password.

Allowing device access on your browser

If you have changed your settings, you must refresh the browser for them to take effect.

You may need to ask your collaborators/students to do the same steps as above if they are having issues.
